60-year-old is oldest Army soldier killed in Iraq
By AMANDA LEE MYERS Associated Press Writer © 2009 The Associated Press

PHOENIX — A 60-year-old Vietnam War veteran killed by a roadside bomb in Iraq has become the oldest Army soldier to die in that conflict, the military said Thursday.
Maj. Steven Hutchison, of Scottsdale, Ariz., served in Vietnam and wanted to re-enlist immediately after the 9/11 terror attacks, but that his wife was against it, his brother said.
Richard Hutchison told The Associated Press on Thursday that when she died, "a part of him died" so he signed up in July 2007.
"He was very devoted to the service and to his country," Richard Hutchison said.
He described him as a great big brother and friend. "I didn't want him to go," he said through tears, adding that he loved his brother "so much."
The Pentagon said Steven Hutchison was killed in Iraq on Sunday. Army spokesman Lt. Col. Nathan Banks said Thursday that Hutchison was the oldest Army soldier killed in Iraq.
An Associated Press database of soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan shows that Hutchison is the oldest member of any service branch killed since the wars broke out.
Hutchison served in Afghanistan for a year before deploying to Iraq in October, heading a 12-soldier team that trained the Iraqi military, his brother said. Later, he was assigned to help secure Iraq's southern border.
Hutchinson, who grew up in California, taught psychology at two state colleges then worked at a health care corporation in Arizona before retiring and re-entering the service, his brother said.
He was part of the 2nd Battalion, 34th Armor Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division at Fort Riley, Kan.

Montana Takes on the Fed's

Montana Governor Signs New Gun Law
Executive Summary – The USA state of Montana has signed into power a revolutionary gun law. I mean REVOLUTIONARY. The State of Montana has defied the federal government and their gun laws. This will prompt a showdown between the federal government and the State of Montana . The federal government fears citizens owning guns. They try to curtail what types of guns they can own. The gun control laws all have one common goal – confiscation of privately owned firearms.
Montana has gone beyond drawing a line in the sand. They have challenged the Federal Government. The fed now either takes them on and risks them saying the federal agents have no right to violate their state gun laws and arrest the federal agents that try to enforce the federal firearms acts. This will be a world-class event to watch. Montana could go to voting for secession from the union, which is really throwing the gauntlet in the goverments face. If the federal government does nothing they lose face. Gotta love it.
Important Points – If guns and ammunition are manufactured inside the State of Montana for sale and use inside that state then the federal firearms laws have no applicability since the federal government only has the power to control commerce across state lines. Montana has the law on their side. Since when did the USA start following their own laws especially the constitution of the USA , the very document that empowers the USA .
Silencers made in Montana and sol in Montana would be fully legal and not registered. As a note silencers were first used before the 007 movies as a device to enable one to hunt without disturbing neighbors and scaring game.. They were also useful as devices to control noise when practicing so as to not disturb the neighbors.
Silencers work best with a bolt-action rifle. There is a long barrel and the chamber is closed tight so as to direct all the gases though the silencer at the tip of the barrel. Semi-auto pistols and revolvers do not really muffle the sound very well except on the silver screen. The revolvers bleed gas out with the sound all over the place. The semi-auto pistols bleed the gases out when the slide recoils back.
Silencers are maybe nice for snipers picking off enemy soldiers even though they reduce velocity but not very practical for hit men shooting pistols in crowded places. Silencers were useful tools for gun enthusiasts and hunters.
There would be no firearm registration, serial numbers, criminal records check, waiting periods or paperwork required. So in a short period of time there would be millions and millions of unregistered untraceable guns in Montana . Way to go Montana !
Discussion – Let us see what Obama does. If he hits Montana hard they will probably vote to secede from the USA . The governor of Texas has already been refusing Federal money because he does not want to agree to the conditions that go with it and he has been saying secession is a right they have as sort of a threat. Things are no longer the same with the USA . Do not be deceived by Obama acting as if all is the same, it is not.

Harry S Truman is a Hero. Not War Criminal
Last week, Jon Stewart called President Harry S Truman a war criminal for dropping the Atomic Bombs on Japan. Growing up during and after Harry S. Truman's administration I leaned of the wonderful job this man did at bringing World War II to a close. I don't watch John Stewart, don't really care about him, but to call President Truman a war criminal is ridiculous.

Andrew Sullivan takes up the cudgels against Harry Truman from Jon Stewart, who threw them down after adjudging Truman a war criminal for Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Was dropping the bombs a war crime? Sullivan finds brilliance in the blogger who cites "a Japanese legal review conclud[ing] as much two decades after the fact."
Shakespeare's Falstaff claimed not only to be witty, but also the cause of wit in others. By the same token, Sullivan is not only stupid, but also (as we saw with President Obama drawing on Sullivan last week) the cause of stupidity in others.
Unfortunately, in his Prague speech, President Obama gave the sense that Americans have something to feel guilty about in using the atomic bomb to close out the war against Japan. Obama pronounced in his speech: "[A]s the only nuclear power to have used a nuclear weapon, the United States has a moral responsibility to act." The logic is not apparent.
We stand unapologetically with Truman. Before the defamation of Truman goes much further, we invite readers to view Bill Whittle's compelling defense of Truman on Pajamas TV.
The video by Bill Whittle is compelling and well worth the sixteen minutes of the presentation. Take time to watch his wonderful defense and explanation of the President Truman's decision to drop the bombs.

Four Signs of Stroke

STROKE: Remember The 1st Three Letters, S.T.R.
Posted By Living Life Abundantly On April 7, 2008
According to studies by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention:
On average, someone in the United States suffers a stroke every 45 seconds; every 3 to 4 minutes, someone dies of a stroke.
Each year, about 700,000 people suffer a stroke. About 500,000 of these are first attacks, and 200,000 are recurrent attacks.
Stroke remains the third leading cause of death, behind heart disease and cancer.
One of my friends is a nurse and shared the following information via an email forward to help heighten awareness about identifying a stroke. (Thanks Shonda).
Please read this and remember the steps. My husband always says “its better to have and not need, than to need and not have.” With that in mind, I hope that you will take this information and place it in your mental rolodex.
During a BBQ, a friend stumbled and took a little fall, she assured everyone that she was fine (they offered to call paramedics) ….. she said she had just tripped
over a brick because of her new shoes.
They got her cleaned up and got her a new plate of food. While she appeared a bit shaken up, Ingrid went about enjoying herself the rest of the evening.
Ingrid’s husband called later telling everyone that his
wife had been taken to the hospital - (at 6:00 pm Ingrid
passed away.) She had suffered a stroke at the BBQ.
Had they known how to identify the signs of a stroke,
perhaps Ingrid would be with us today. Some don’t die,
they end up in a helpless, hopeless condition instead.
It only takes a minute to read this…
A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim
within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a
stroke… totally . He said the trick was getting a stroke
recognized, diagnosed, and then getting the patient
medically cared for within 3 hours, which is tough.
RECOGNIZING A STROKE
Thank God for the sense to remember the
‘3′ steps, STR . Read and Learn!
Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify.
Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster. The
stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage when
people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke .
Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke
by asking three simple questions:
S * Ask the individual to SMILE.
T * Ask the person to TALK and SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE
(Coherently) i.e. It is sunny out today)
R * Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS.
If he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these tasks,
call 999/911 immediately and describe the
symptoms to the dispatcher.
New Sign of a Stroke ——- Stick out Your Tongue

NOTE: Another ’sign’ of a stroke is this: Ask the person
to ’stick’ out his tongue.. If the tongue is ‘crooked’,
if it goes to one side or the other , that is also an
indication of a stroke.
A cardiologist says if everyone who gets this
e-mail sends it to 10 people; you can bet that
at least one life will be saved.

He Is Still On Duty, NY 40th, Mozart Regiment
At the base of Little Round Top, near the Devil's Den this Yankee Sentinel remains on watch for the advancing Rebel forces. This is one of the most interesting monuments of Gettysburg National Military Park. The solider blends in so well with the huge rocks of this area that it is possible to overlook the monument among the boulders. It was those very same boulders that protected the defensive force during the battle.
The monument was erected by the New York, 40th Mozart Regiment, who participated in the defense of Little Round Top on July 2, 1863 in the Valley of Death.
