The Republican Strategy
Don’t you just love the latest Republican strategy? President Bush wants to adopt twelve million or so illegal aliens. The Senate passes a bill that does that and much more, none of the much more is good for the country. But, the House of Representatives stakes out a territory that clearly rejects both President Bush and the Senate.
Sidebar: Don’t you think that anytime we can stop the Senate we are making progress. That bunch of conceited puffs really believes that they are smarter than their constitutes. I guess the two poster children for this are Arlen Specter (R) and our very own Joe Biden (D) (according to Mark Levin the dumbest man in the U.S. Senate)
So the way this strategy shakes out is that we hate those who aren’t running for re-election, i.e. President Bush and most of the stuffed shirts in the U.S. Senate. But, those who must face the uneducated and smelly masses are in a position where they are actually following the will of the people. Who ever heard of such a thing?
Anything but border security is a bad deal for the country. Where in the world did the U.S. Senate get the idea that these illegal’s should be able to avoid taxes, get social security and after violating our laws become citizens? They have got to be crazy.

Bad Republican
I subscribe to Chuck Muth's DC Confidential, a right wing news brief that from time to time hits the target. I think the article below is of interest to the Republican base that feels like the party is not keeping to it's core conservative principals.
LEAVING THE PARTY PARTY
Mike Griffin is a good friend of mine, but a "bad" Republican. He actually thinks the party should STAND for something. He thinks the GOP should be principled. And he's finally had enough. Take a look at Mike's idea below...and don't be surprised to find similar parties springing up from coast-to-coast.
Hello Chuck, fellow cynic:
My friend and I have become very despondent about the direction the GOP has been going: To the Left! Dan and I intend to switch our party affiliation to independent on Wednesday, Sept 13, the day after the Maryland primaries. The delay is only due to our desire to help an honest Republican candidate who is running in the GOP primary for a Harford county office.
Anyway, he and I have been thinking about having fun in backslapping George Bush's and Trent Lott's party. We're thinking about sponsoring a "Leaving the Party" party sometime between the Maryland primary and the November general...
"Things for Conservatives to Do While Staying Home on Election Day"
1) All those weekends you spent over the years at booths trying to get Republicans elected meant you had to neglect your house. Spend election day finally cleaning the leaves from your gutters, so on.
2) Create a calendar that allows you to check off the days since the RNC chairman, Ed Gillespie said the Reagan Revolution was over.
3) Relive the days when Phil Graham and the Republican Party were in the minority and were able to stop Hillary care/nationalized medicine - but now that they're in the majority, we now have the Great Society Part II.
4) Clean your guns.
5) To expand the diversity of the GOP's big tent beyond just the illegal Mexican immigrants, think of as many other ethnic/moral/victim groups that could also be packed into the USA.
6) On the left side of a sheet of paper draw up a list of all the dysfunctional, selfish base groups of the Democrat Party. Then on the right side, list all the possible government programs and special protections you can think of. When done, draw a line connecting each government benefit to the base group that would give the RANK the best chance of buying (I mean winning) that group's vote.
BONUS: Check off the government benefits that Bush, Frist, and Hastert have already created (but whose creation still won't win votes.)
7) Contribute time to the Minutemen and round up illegal aliens whom the Bush and the RNC refuse to return for fear of alienating their business donors.
8) To keep busy while staying at home, conservatives can compile a list of Ten Stupid Republican tricks. As a free box, one can begin with Bush's 2004 campaign, which won with the help of the Swift Boat Veterans and their status as a 527 organization. So what do Bush, Rove, the GOP leadership and John McCain want to do? Reform 527s out of existence. What better way to fulfill his campaign pledge to bring a new tone to Capitol Hill than by abolishing speech?
Deciding either to stay home on election day or switching to independent voter status should not make a Republican-registered conservative uncomfortable. Since being a member of a base Republican group is an invitation to be taken for granted, your new role as a "swing voter" will finally attract the attention and even the "courting" by GOP politicians that you have missed all these years. :)

Bush, A Better Week
Well George W. Bush finally caught a few breaks this past week or so. Mr. Madman in Iraq has met his virgins thanks to the fine work of our Special Forces and of course the pilot that laid the eggs right on the target. Looks like we are having a positive campaign in Afghanistan and eliminating more of the taliban, which is a good thing. It is good to see both the Iraq forces and the Afghan’s playing a major role in the defense of their countries.
Well Rove is off the hot seat and will not be indited for the CIA leak fiasco. That is a good thing, but it just hurts me to see the Dem.’s lose their most fervent dream, that of Karl Rove being "frog marched", a little quote from Wilson there. Now if Scooter Libby can just prove he is innocent, and I hope he is, another dream of the Dem.’s will crash right before their eyes.
George's approval rating are at 40% and perhaps climbing. Forget the progress on the war, the great economy people still don't give him credit. Of course, there is the immigration thing, where he is 180 degrees off the feelings of the majority of Americans. Looks like the House of Representative will save us from the McCain-Kennedy Bill....thank god.
